The Mys-Teak Story
Seeds For the Future
Mys-Teak planning and development began in 2001 with incorporation and first significant investment being made in 2005.
After exhaustive research Costa Rica was chosen as the best country for a long term teak plantation project because of its stable and peaceful culture, a strong governmental respect of the environment, and of course, excellent growing conditions for teak.
Carefully managed, Mys-Teak was rated in 2013 by MINAE certified foresters at 98.5% for superior quality, growth rates, and respect for the environment.
Value Added & Jobs Created
After nine years of simply watching the trees grow, Mys-Teak used trees cut from our first commercial harvest of thinnings in 2013, then tested the local Costa Rican market with various wood products ranging from simple posts and squares to hardwood flooring to complete bedroom sets of furniture.
“Mys-Teak Creations” focuses on developing our precious commodity supplied from “Mys-Teak Plantations” into a selection of end products while constantly focusing on streamlining the supply and development chain of production and transportation.
