It is the decades of heavy, hot manual labour required to ensure the continual tree maintenance that truly separates Mys-Teak from most other plantation teak producers. It is this hard work that allows us the ability to produce large volumes of FEQ clear grade lumber.

Luis was one of our star employees, who for fourteen years personally managed the entire maintenance of one of our plantations without the need for supervision. His efforts to plant and maintain a new zone of the plantation have resulted in some of the best, cleanest teak in Costa Rica and we eagerly await the moment when we are able to begin final harvest of this area and truly see the difference that repetitive dedication to a standard of labour over 14 years can make to quality.

Sadly, in 2018 Mys-Teak lost an incredibly dedicated and honest man. Luis will not be forgotten while his ethics and efforts live on in the teak trees and beautiful lumber his dedication has helped us produce and export around the world.
